Most of the coatings used in our steel drum industry are solvent-based coatings. The solid content is generally below 50%, and the rest are organic solvents. During the construction, the organic solvent is volatilized in the environment, causing pollution to the environment and causing harm to the human body.
Solvent gases volatilized in the air can invade, stimulate and destroy human skin, central nervous system, hematopoietic organs, respiratory system, etc., causing dizziness, nausea and chest tightness at low concentrations; causing severe poisoning at high concentrations, Even life-threatening. People who have been exposed to paint solvent gas for a long time are most prone to loss of appetite, poor memory and insomnia, and chronic poisoning.
According to the Level 4 standard determined by the World Health Organization (W.H.O), China's "Design Industrial Hygiene Standards for Industrial Enterprises" stipulates that the highest concentration of solvent in the air is allowed as follows:

In the absence of safety and protective equipment, we must first take the following minimum prevention and protection measures:
1. Construction operators should be familiar with the paint performance, construction requirements and safety measures used.
2. When spraying paint by hand, you must wear anti-virus masks and protective gloves, wear long-sleeved tight overalls, and preferably wear glasses. Especially when spraying nitrocellulose lacquer or perchloroethylene lacquer, be sure to stand on the wind and wear a wind-proof gas mask. Avoid paint contact with skin and solvent gases directly into the human respiratory organs.
3. The workplace must have good ventilation, anti-virus, dust removal and other facilities. In the absence of protective equipment, care should be taken to circulate air and accelerate the escape of toxic gases.
4. When using paint on your hands, do not scrub with benzene solvents. It is best to wear gloves or put on Vaseline beforehand.
5. In order to prevent contamination of the skin by organic solvents and their gases, invisible glove fluids may be applied. Made from soluble protein, it is insoluble in paints and solvents. It forms a film a few minutes after application, keeping hands free from paint and solvents, and moisturizing the skin. After the work is finished, it is very convenient to wash with soap in warm water.
6. Since Hongdan antirust paint contains more lead tetraoxide, it is better to use a brushing method instead of spraying to avoid direct absorption of lead pigments in the air by spraying. Other anti-rust paints can also be used instead of red anti-rust paint.
7. Operators are not allowed to eat at the construction site. Wash your hands with soap, wash your face before or after work, and change your overalls for a shower. When you feel that the trachea is dry, you should drink more sugar and boiled water.
8. If the operator feels headache, dizziness, nausea, etc. at work, he should immediately leave the work site and take a rest in the fresh air. If it is more serious, you should immediately send a doctor to rescue and treat.
9. The operator should perform a physical examination on a regular basis, and those who have symptoms should be treated promptly and removed from the paint construction post.
10. Fire-fighting equipment must be available at the paint construction site, mainly foam fire extinguishers or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. In addition, yellow sand is also a very effective fire extinguishing equipment. It should be noted that in the event of a fire, do not use water to extinguish the paint or the ignition of the solvent.
