The 8th World Adhesives Conference was held on April 20-23, 2008 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami, Florida. The conference was organized by the American Adhesives and Sealants Committee, Asia, EU Adhesive Industry Association and Canada, Mexico. The co-organized by the Adhesive Industry Association, the meeting was a lively, lively, innovative, full content, and everyone responded well.
At the conference, leaders of industry associations from China (CNAIA), Japan (JAIA), Korea (KSAIC), European Union (FEICA), Canada (ASMAC), Mexico (ANIQ), Brazil and Taiwan (TSRAIA), A total of more than 920 people, including manufacturers of adhesives and sealants, raw material suppliers, equipment and equipment manufacturers, distributors, and academic and economic circles in various countries, set a new high for previous conferences.
The opening ceremony of the conference kicked off in a chorus at 3:30 pm on May 20th. As the music and students sang, the atmosphere of the venue was at a climax, and applause struck one after another. After the concert, Mr. Larry, chairman of the American Adhesives and Sealants Committee, made an opening speech. First of all, he expressed his gratitude and greetings to all the delegates. He then introduced to delegates the chairman and secretary of the National Association for Adhesives, and held an opening ceremony to cut the ribbon. At the opening ceremony, the chairman of the European Adhesive Manufacturers Association also announced good news to everyone: The next World Adhesives Conference will be held in Paris, France in 2012!
The conference communicates and discusses markets, technologies, and regulations that are currently of widespread concern. The three-day conference (April 20 at 3: 00- at 12:00 on April 23 morning), every morning 8: 00-9: 15 plenary meetings, inviting the world's leading multinational high Han, National Starch & Chemical, Dow, Bostik, etc. do report on global business and energy policy, environment and resource utilization, world economy and sustainable development, chemical industry cooperation and innovation, and other time is divided into four special venues. Each venue has different themes at different time periods, including waterborne polymer adhesives, pressure sensitive adhesives, hot melt adhesives, sealants, polyurethane and epoxy adhesives, and REACH regulations. There were 58 speakers at the conference , including 4 from China Adhesive Industry Association, and Qu Chunyan from Heilongjiang Research Institute of Petroleum Chemistry (title: Research on tough bismaleimide resin structural film). Dr. Zhu Song of Shanghai Fangtian Adhesive Technology Co., Ltd. (title: relationship between rheological behavior and adhesive properties of SBC based hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives), Yuan Sulan Senior Engineer, Chengdu Sibao Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. ( Topics include: preparation of one-component water-dispersible room temperature dehydration-curing silicone sealant) and senior engineer Wang Zhizheng of the Department of Adhesives, Qingdao Marine Chemical Research Institute (titled: New Modified Acrylic Adhesive).
The conference also held a product exhibition at 3:00-7:00 PM on April 21. Manufacturers of adhesives and sealants, raw material suppliers, and equipment and instrument manufacturers all showed their latest products and services. A total of 89 companies exhibited and exhibited l06 stalls. Among them, there are many ASC member companies and EU manufacturers, and there are 53 ASC members, including: Clariant (USA) Co., Ltd., Emerald Functional Polymer Materials Co., Ltd., Ashland Specialty Polymers and Adhesives, WACKER Polymers, Eastman Chemical Commercial Co., Ltd. etc. There are only a few in Asia, only two in Japan, two in South Korea, and one in Taiwan. There are no manufacturers participating in mainland China.
   The World Adhesives Conference was held in rotation by Europe, Asia and the United States. This is a global conference in which the adhesives and sealants industry in the world has paid close attention to and actively participated in. It has a high reputation and strong influence, and has already established a scale and a level of success. I will have participated in three consecutive meetings since October 2000. We look forward to the arrival of the 2012 World Adhesives Conference!
