Brazil showcases new recycling technology for Tetra packaging materials

A Chinese government delegation consisting of representatives from three Chinese ministries recently visited Brazil to learn about Tetracycling's advanced recycling technology. Tetra Pak consists of 3 layers: paper, plastic and aluminum. This packaging material is widely used in the food processing industry for food preservation and storage. The regeneration technology was developed in 7 years and can separate the three materials to achieve reuse. This technology is very useful for the packaging industry.

To understand the entire process, representatives of the Chinese government visited a “recycler” (responsible for collecting used packaging materials) consortium and factories that use recycled aluminum and plastics to produce plates, bricks, and brooms.

The delegation also visited Plasma, which owns the technology. Founded in 2005, Plasma is a joint venture between Tetra Pak, Alcoa, Klabin and TSL Ambiental. The company can produce 8 million tons of aluminum and plastic annually from 32 million tons of packaging materials.

At present, China is one of the countries that use the latest Tetra Pak packaging materials.

The progress of this new technology in the packaging industry has attracted the visits of many national delegations. In addition to the Chinese delegation, Spain, Germany, and Belgium have also sent delegations to visit Brazil. (Dragon carving)
