China Adhesive Industry Association and National Adhesive Standardization

In 2007, the National Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China established the “General Purpose Polypropylene Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tape”, “Guidelines for the Manufacturing, Use, and Recycling of Packaging, Labeling, and Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Products” and the “Nomenclature of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Products”. A national standard, and submitted the submitted manuscript to the National Standardization Committee in 2008. After the review and approval, it will be implemented after the transitional period. The China Adhesives Industry Association and the National Adhesives Standardization Technical Committee first organized the relevant manufacturers of the China Adhesive Industry Association Pressure Sensitive Plastic Products Branch (in preparation) to prepare the three standards. The units that participated in the drafting of standards work included Yongda (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Hongchang Adhesive Tape Factory, Hebei Huaxia Industrial Co., Ltd., Foshan Yida Adhesive Products Co., Ltd., and Beijing Jiangrun Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. After the preparation of the drafts of the three standards, the association has repeatedly invited association consultants, experts on pressure-sensitive adhesives, Lu Fengting, Wei Qinglai, Yang Yukun, and Han Yanru, chief engineer of Beijing Jiangrun Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. to carry out the three standards one by one. Revised, and timely feedback to the editing unit and pressure-sensitive adhesive related manufacturers, and many manufacturers have proposed changes, after several discussions and amendments. At present, the three national standards have been basically completed.
    The implementation of these three standards will be related to the specification and development of China's pressure sensitive adhesives industry, and have a vital interest for each manufacturer. In order to widely listen to opinions of domestic manufacturers of pressure-sensitive adhesives, equipment manufacturers, and joint ventures and wholly-owned enterprises, the Association and the National Adhesives Standardization Technical Committee decided to hold the drafts for these three standards in Beijing on April 7-9, 2008.
