DuPont has developed a new process for producing apparel from corn

DuPont announced that the company’s scientists have developed a new process that uses corn as a raw material to produce clothing. Its newly developed biotechnology-based process can replace previously used petrochemical-based processes and use corn to produce Sorona polymers. The Sorona polymer produced by the new technology has a softer feel and can be dyed in various ways. It has strong washability and can be protected from ultraviolet radiation.
