PowerFlex PET bottle technology can produce stripless, non-ribbed bottles for the beverage industry. Since no need for edge strips, this technology forms a unique membrane at the bottom of the container, designed to compensate for the vacuum deformation that occurs when the hot-filled beverage cools. When the liquid cools, the diaphragm rises from the bottom of the bottle. The company stated that the bottle has both thickness and good geometric characteristics, and the reversed taper diaphragm deflects when vacuum is applied. The initial supply of bottles is for 16- and 20-ounce beverages and will grow from 8 to 32 ounces in the future. PowerFlex bottles run smoothly on most conventional filling lines, eliminating the need to adjust production lines or change the filling process.
