Printing method (coloring method)

There are many methods for batik printing in textile printing. Here we only introduce the methods suitable for stone printing.

1, brushing and dyeing

After the stone is treated with a wax pattern, it is brushed with a coloring agent on the surface of the wax pattern repeatedly with a paint brush. In order to achieve an ideal coloring effect, the dyeing time can be appropriately extended and the amount of the pigment (dye) can be increased. The research on stone colorants has been published in the magazine "Stone", and it can be selected according to actual needs. I will not repeat them here. If dyeing board batik dyeing process must use low-temperature dyes, the temperature will melt the wax out, so that the batik lose its proper style, the dye temperature below 50 °C is appropriate. The organic dyes that are more suitable for batik are vat dyes and azo dyes.

In the case of fabric batik, the wax pattern can be processed by the kneading method or the folding method, which can form a natural and lively wax pattern. These methods can not be implemented for stone coloring, only the wax liquid formula work hard, so that the natural formation of cracks after waxing, which must be solved from the nature of the wax and batik process. You can also take the method of putting the waxed stone plate in the freezer for about 10 minutes and then dye it again. The freezing will make the wax fragile and appear waxy.

2, the method of pouring wax or dyeing

The waxing method is a very interesting batik technique. First, the cleaned slate is laid flat, and then the molten wax in the wax pot is poured on the slate or sprinkled with a brush. This will create a non-geometric shape in a very short time. First dye the stone with the first color, then pour the wax on the stone board for a second dyeing. With this method, you can get a beautiful colorful pattern. It is also possible to directly sprinkling the coloring agent (pulverizing the dye and the dyeing auxiliary in different proportions into fine powder) without splashing the wax on the surface of the heated slate. The colorant melts and penetrates into the interior of the stone to form various patterns. A variety of shades of color can be obtained, very natural stone style. You can also use the brush to pick up the dye solution and paint it on the stone board. You can use the hand-painted and dyed hand-painted method (first paint and then hand-painted or hand-painted and then splash-dyed) to obtain a stone product with high artistic appreciation value.

3, Tjap (Cap) method - copper relief printing stencil method

Chap is a metal relief printing stencil made of thin copper sheets and fine copper wires. These copper and copper wires form a complex and detailed pattern. "Chap" can be used as an imprinting tool for embossing patterns on stone plates. The wax is melted in a flat shallow container, and the printing stencil is immersed in the wax in the container. It is then pressed tightly against the surface of the tile so that the batik pattern is left behind. Brush coloring agent will form various patterns on the stone surface. Press the printing plate with thick gloves to prevent Chap from scalding your hands.

In stone coloring technology, brushing and dyeing can save dyeing liquid, but the effect of wax coloring is not as deep as that of dip dyeing, vacuum impregnation, etc. If a vacuum brushing is used, a deep colored layer can also be obtained. Some inorganic dyeing is used. Stones also have to be treated with high temperatures, which will cause the stone to lose strength.
