As an advanced long-fiber pulp, its quality is better than that of ordinary newspapers and papers, but the recovery rate in the country was zero before. The reporter learned from relevant departments in Shanghai that the recycling project started recently has a profit of RMB 400 per ton and a considerable profit. Recently, South Korea has also succeeded in using waste milk boxes to make toilet paper. Each 30 waste milk boxes can be made into 5 rolls of 70-meter-long toilet paper.
The reporter conducted a targeted survey of Nanjing Huayang Jiaren Community. In this community, more than 600 households discarded 1 kilograms of milk, 100 boxes of sour milk, and 120 soft drink boxes of iced tea during this period. These empty boxes were all treated as Throw away domestic garbage. During the investigation of the reporter, a garbage collector told reporters that because the waste collection station does not recycle these boxes, they are truly "junk" and their recycling value is inferior to that of plastic bottles. According to the reporter's on-site estimation, the weight of 5 boxes will be about 1 pound, and the Huayang Beauty Community alone will waste nearly 50 pounds of soft drink boxes in the afternoon.
A staff member of the Drum Tower Sanitation Office told the reporter that at present, the daily garbage collected in Nanjing is classified and treated. Waste newsprint and Coke bottles can all be recycled, but the waste milk cartons and soft drink boxes are complicated by synthetic resins and metals. The ingredients, without the corresponding decomposition technology, cannot be reused at present, and most of them are sent to the waste incineration plant to be burned. Relevant experts have suggested that the recycling of these high-grade discarded packaging boxes will have great potential for exploring opportunities for discarded packaging boxes.
