Yanhua test produces new nanometer montmorillonite modified polyester

Prof. Qiong Zongneng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other researchers are able to significantly improve the processing performance and product performance of PET when the inorganic components are dispersed in the PET matrix at the nanometer level. The in-situ intercalation polymerization method and the melt intercalation compounding technology are used for the development. A PET/montmorillonite nanocomposite (China Patent Application No. 9) and a reinforced flame-retardant NPET engineering plastic were produced.

The patented technology of this invention was industrialized and developed by the scientific and technical personnel of the polyester factory of Yanhua Company, completed the industrial production process technology, and successfully produced a batch of new NPET products on the industrial production device. The product has been tested by the relevant national authorities and showed that the performance specifications of the new nano-montmorillonite-modified polyester are stable and reliable, and have reached or exceeded domestic and international PET engineering plastic products.
